About

Rui Freire – Fine Art Gallery is located in a historical area of the city of Lisbon, in the Chiado district, a stone's throw from the MNAC (National Museum of Contemporary Art) and the Lisbon School of Fine Arts. With a ceiling height of 4.50 m, the space is equipped with three removable panels, allowing to modulate the exhibition space, depending on the works on display.

The gallery opens its doors in 2018. Originally under the name of the historical Parisian gallery - Jeanne Bucher Jaeger - where Rui Freire was director, between 2008- 2019, in Paris. Rui Freire decided then to launch his own gallery project in Lisbon, at the same location but under his name. There he continues his activity representing and promoting Portuguese and International artists and developing his activity related with artists from the post-war School of Paris.

In 2019, Rui Freire starts a partnership with the American organization Parley For The Oceans. Parley team in Portugal is currently working on large scale projects with international artists, including the German artist Katharina Grosse and the Brazilian artist Vik Muniz, among others.
