The Nature of Things explores the relationship between matter, form and perception. It brings together artistic practices that offer distinct ways of constructing and interpreting the visible world. The exhibition is grounded in the idea that the nature of an artwork extends beyond the materials from which it is made or the image it presents. It emerges also through the interplay between artistic intention, gesture and the act of looking.
Between precision and spontaneity, construction and intuition, figuration and abstraction, the works reveal different possibilities of artistic expression. Painting, drawing, photography and glass enter into dialogue, exploring how materiality can assert itself as a physical presence while also giving way to image, reflection or suggestion.
Rather than seeking aesthetic unity, The Nature of Things embraces the individuality of each artistic language and the tensions that arise from their encounter. Between what matter reveals and what an image suggests, the exhibition opens up a space for reflection on the nature of artworks and our relationship with them. It invites us to look beyond what is immediately visible.
