MANUEL CALDEIRA
The Rui Freire - Fine Art gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition ACAPELLA by artist Manuel Caldeira. This is the artist’s second individual presentation at the gallery.
The group of works chosen for the exhibition are realized in painting, drawing and sculpture and come in the sequence of the artist’s last exhibition that we presented in 2020.
This group of works contrasts with the previous ones not only by the deliberate choice to limit the use of color, but also by the integration of sculpture, a practice that the artist has been developing in recent years and that we had the opportunity to see in the beautiful 2015 EDP prize exhibition, for example. The title chosen by Manuel Caldeira for this exhibition - Acapella - designates vocal music without instrumental accompaniment, in an allusion to the artist’s subtle use of color.
We have also included a set of drawings that formally fall between the works in painting and sculpture.
The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Friday between 11am-1pm and 2pm-7pm.
On Saturday the hours are from2pm to 7pm.
